ICYMI: Change for hope
The coffee shop was bustling all day Thursday, September 25th with Ray of Hope Portrait supporters and friends. The energy in the shop was palpable- warm, kind, hopeful. In times that can feel quite divisive, ROHP represents a cause that brings everyone together. ROHP reminds us that we are more alike than different- and we can make a difference where it really matters.
Ray of Hope Portraits offers larger-than-life photography sessions for critically ill children. They go all out, creating an unforgettable experience in the midst of incredibly trying times for children and their families. ROHP is an uplifting, positive, and fun page to follow on social media. It’s been mind blowing to see how many B+A friends and community members have found ways to partner with ROHP to offer their services and support to make these photo sessions unforgettable experiences.
Bow + Arrow committed to give 20% of proceeds Thursday to Ray of Hope. THANK YOU to everyone who partnered with us by simply ordering coffee, a sandwich, or pastry! Doesn’t it feel amazing when your daily cup of caffeine makes the world a better place?! Win-Win. On top of those proceeds, we hosted a raffle with a coffee-lovers basket up for grabs, and a cash 50/50 prize. 50% of the cash prize went to Ray of Hope, and 50% to our raffle winner. Ray of Hope also received donations as so many of you were thrilled to hear that this organization exists. As a result of this year’s fundraiser, we were able to raise over $750 for Ray of Hope! This is even more than we raised last year! Thank you for making that generous donation possible!
Amy Winsor, Ray of Hope’s founder is a professional photographer, a mom of two, and a long-time member of the Damascus community. You may know her simply from seeing her in the coffee shop, or from her involvement in one of her many roles around town as a teacher, coach and mentor. With a team full of caring volunteers, she dreamed up this non-profit and put it into action to make a difference for families during their most challenging seasons.
